LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -

A birthday celebration turned deadly in Gwinnett County on Sunday.  Police say a man who was a guest at a party in a quiet Lawrenceville neighborhood shot a mother and daughter inside a home.

A spokesperson for the Gwinnett County Police Department tells FOX 5 News that officers were called out to the 2100 block of Crystal Lake Drive just after 5 p.m. They say someone called 911 after hearing gunfire.

Police arrived to find 53-year-old Alicia Johnson dead in the garage of the home, and her daughter, 31-year-old Dana Johnson, who had also been shot. The daughter was taken to an area hospital to be treated for her injuries.

Investigators believe 40-year-old Ohave Whitfield was the gunman.  They say he was also a guest at the party, and they say he managed to get away after the shooting.  Whitfield is 5'8" tall and weighs about 165 pounds. He was last seen driving a teal green Volvo S80 with Georgia tag PRI4493.

Police have issued warrants for Whitfield for both murder and aggravated assault.  They say he should be considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who sees him should call 911 immediately.
