Two injured in Cocoa shooting

COCOA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

Cocoa police officers continue to investigate a shooting which occurred late Monday afternoon at the Village Greene Apartments on Dixon Blvd. 

Officers responded to the shooting just before 4 p.m.  Two people were shot, one of whom had to flown by helicopter to a hospital.  The person is said to be in stable condition, having suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Witnesses directed police to where they had last seen several men running following the shooting.  Of three people who were detained, one has been arrested.  The person's identity has not been released. 

Police did recover a weapon and continue to look for those responsible for the shooting.
