A man is charged with drunken driving and fleeing police after officers were lead on a high-speed chase through Ferndale.

Police tell Fox 2's Taryn Asher the chase started around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when Joshua May, 30, was seen driving his vehicle through multiple stop signs near Nile Mile and Livernois roads.

Police dash cam video shows the vehicle then driving at speeds up to 70 miles per hour while going through residential streets. The chase lasted about two and a half minutes.

"Residential neighborhoods and the border of downtown Ferndale - there's still people out, vehicles out. He did almost have a head-on accident with a car he came across so he was definitely creating a danger," Lt. William Wilson of Ferndale Police says.
