Popular Evergreens to Use as Christmas Trees

Emerald Arborvitae
- Full sun
- Tall and narrow (15 feet tall 3 – 4 feet wide) great for smaller spaces
- Screening and hedge plant
- Emerald green foliage

California Christmas Tree – Deodar Cedar
- Full Sun
- 40 – 50 feet tall 20 – 30 feet wide
- Pyramidal, gracefully arching branches
- Blue green foliage

Fat Albert Colorado Blue Spruce
- Full sun, partial sun or partial shade
- Slow growing to 10-15 feet tall and wide
- Pyramidal growth
- Blue green foliage

Blue Atlas Cedar
- Full Sun
- Slow grower to 8 – 10 feet tall and 5 – 6 feet wide
- Once established it needs very little water.
- Blue green foliage

Columnar Eastern White Pine
- Full Sun
- 25 – 40 feet tall and 10 feet wide
- Moderate grower
- Gray green foliage

Hick's Yew
- Sun to partial sun
- Slow grower reaches 10 – 12 feet tall and 3 – 4 feet wide
- Dark green foliage
- Ornamental berries

Dwarf Alberta Spruce
- Sun to partial sun
- Slow growth to 6-8 feet tall and 4 – 5 feet wide
- Great container plant
- Deer resistant

‘Blue Ice' Cypress
- Full Sun
- Compact, columnar shape reaching 15 feet tall and 8 feet wide
- Great container plant

Decorate Your Living Christmas Tree
- Use lights that are safe outdoors
- Decorate your tree for the birds. Tie twine around a pine cone. Spread peanut butter on the pine cone and then roll it through bird seed.
