Michigan Marine surprises family at Lions game

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A West Michigan family got the surprise of a lifetime at Sunday's Detroit Lions game. Marine Corps Captain Joshua Munsee came home early from his tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Munsee convinced the team to help him surprise his family. The Lions told his wife Michelle and their three young children that they were being honored as a military family.

As they stood on the field in front of more than 62,000, Munsee appeared. His wife was brought to tears, holding 10-month-old Anna. Becca, 5, and Henry, 3, ran up to their dad to give him big hugs.

Munsee nearly died during his first three overseas tours. This homecoming was especially emotional for the entire family – and just in time for the holidays.
