What gifts to never buy for a woman

Dana and Zack just got married. It's a beautiful time in their young lives. So, of course, we had to ask: what would Zack have to get you for you to break up immediately?

You're a lucky man, Zack. It turns out sweet, smiling Dana is definitely not like every other woman. She said that both the Roomba, a circular robotic vacuum cleaner, and Santa-themed lingerie would be decent gifts.

Those are supposedly among the worst gifts women say their man can get them for the holidays.

"Gifts are supposed to be what they want not what you want," says Michelle Madhok of shefinds.com.

And, one thing you definitely don't want is your girlfriend or wife thinking you think they need to lose weight. You follow? So quite possibly the two worst gifts ever: diet books and a bathroom scale.

"People want what's on a wish list," Madhok says. She might be giving you lots of clues by what's pinned to her Pinterest page, on her Amazon list, and elsewhere.

If you don't want to feel bad when your wife or girlfriend gets your gift, stay away from home depot gift cards. No tool boxes unless you want her to think you're a tool. And for goodness' sake and your own stay away from toasters. They're not hot.

As an avid reader, Julee Allen is always buying books. And she prefers to buy them in person at a book store. In this age of Kindles, Nooks and other e-readers, some may call Julee and others who prefer to buy actual books part of a shrinking breed.
