(WJBK) -

A local nonprofit The Bottomless Toy Chest is bringing holiday cheer to child cancer patients at the Detroit Medical Center. The agency brings the kids art projects and toys.

57 families were greeted with gifts Thursday.

"They're absolutely having a ball, and it's a big surprise today. Nobody knew that this was happening. And when they arrived at the clinic, probably about to go in for treatment or  to get a needle poke - instead they were greeted with tons of toys," says Mickey Guisewite, founder of Bottomless Toy Chest.
