Eagles Win Could Bring Big Money To Philly

Eagles Win Could Bring Big Money To Philly

PHILADELPHIA -

Go green could equal big green for the city of Philadelphia.

An Eagles win Sunday guarantees a ninth home game at Lincoln Financial Field this season...and the team's first home playoff game in three years.

Cara Schneider of visitphilly.com said an Eagles win could lead to big business; "In terms of hotels, winter is usually a really quiet period so it would be great to bring in visiting teams, their families, their fans, their press, all of them," Schneider said.

And all those extra people will need some place to eat.

Tony Luke's manager Darryl Thomas says their South Philly restaurant would cook around 1900 steaks if the eagles have a home playoff game next weekend. "A good 20 to 25 percent increase in business," said Thomas.

Chickie's and Pete's owner Peter Ciarrocchi says area restaurants would be filled on more than just game day; "Every place is busier every single day because of one win on Sunday. My big problem is we have to play a game. If we could just stay like this I'd be really happy."
