A Black Bear Crashes Post Christmas Party

A Black Bear Crashes Post Christmas Party

Posted: Updated:
LAKE MARY, Fla. -

Twas the day after Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring… until a big black bear broke in.

Gaines says: "I was getting ready to go to bed and that's when I heard the crash."

When Tramaine Gaines ran downstairs he saw this bear searching for food.

Gaines says: "He stood up to look in the pot, and that's when I realized he would be looking me in my face. And that was crazy."

Gaines had forgotten a big pot of fried turkey oil on his back porch. After not finding any real turkey the bear wanders outside.

GAINES says: "I guess he thought there was some turkey inside my grill here, so he got at that."

The bear comes back in for one last turkey check then again leaving empty handed.

Gaines says: "He kind of gave us a disappointed look and then left."

With trail of destruction in its wake.

    NICE EASTER WEEKEND

The first half of the holiday weekend has been great and Easter Sunday looks just as nice. Clouds thin out late tonight with temperatures falling back to the 40s.

Initially it'll be jacket weather early Sunday morning but plenty of sunshine will warm us into the 60s by afternoon.  High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.

It will be noticeably cooler and breezy at the shore with highs in the low 50s.  Quiet conditions continue into Monday.
