Man flown to hospital after car struck by train in Palmetto

PALMETTO, Ga. -

Police will be reviewing surveillance video on-board the CSX train that struck a car while traveling through the city of Palmetto on Sunday evening to try to determine what happened.

Palmetto Police say that a younger male was flown to Atlanta Medical Center after the car he was driving was struck by that train near Vine Street just after 6 p.m. The car was dragged along the lines for about a mile into the center town.

Police for CSX and Palmetto as well as troopers with the Georgia State Patrol are investigating the accident.
