Many people make a resolution to get more organized in the New Year. But something that goes along with that is getting your legal paperwork in order.
You may think you don't have any legal paperwork, but you'd be surprised.
Attorney Heather Hansen joined "Good Day Philadelphia" on Thursday to explain and help us get it together in 2014.
Her first tip? Make sure you have a living will and health care power of attorney.
You can find a living will and power of attorney online, and you don't need a lawyer.
Also, now is the time to ensure you have updated homeowners insurance. If you remodeled, got divorced or got a pet, your insurance can change.
Check your credit reports and think about credit card protection, Hansen said. Class-action lawsuits only deal with the issue after it happens.
And make sure your will and email files regarding contracts are maintained!
