WASHINGTON -

As snow blanketed the D.C. region on Thursday night, FOX 5 photographer Nelson Jones and his daughter took their snow photos to a new level! Jones tweeted out a crazy picture of their snow face plant, and it's a hit on social media.

Jones says he and his daughter were shoveling snow when it was still fresh, and his daughter suggested they stick their faces in the snow that had fallen on the roof of their car.  They did, and then his daughter took a photo of the face plant (in the dark) with her iPhone.  And so the crazy, 3D snow face plant pic was born!

Jones' daughter shot the photo from above the snow, and she used the flash on her iPhone's camera.  The image has a distinct 3D look, even though Jones says that's not how it looked to the naked eye.  He says they were shocked at the outcome!

PORTALES, N.M. (AP) -- Thieves have picked clean a pumpkin patch that had been tended to by New Mexico preschoolers. DENVER - Technically, it's still summer for a few more days but it's snowing already in Colorado! The Denver area saw a dusting Wednesday and could get a bit more snow as a cold front moves through. Fortunately for residents there, this is just temporary and they'll enjoying 70 degree days again soon.
