NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

The first round of Fastrack repairs scheduled for 2014 have been delayed due to extremely cold weather. 

The MTA says the first two nights- January 6 and January 7- have been canceled. G subway service will operate normally.

Fastrack repair service on the G line will resume on January 8 and January 9. During that time, service will be suspended between Bedford-Nostrand avenues and Church avenue in Brooklyn from 10pm until 5am

The work ends on Friday, January 10th.

Free shuttle buses will operate between Bedford-Nostrand avenues and the Jay street-Metro Tech station during Fastrack.

In the meantime, other Fastrack repairs will happen on the following dates and lines:

January 13 to 17 on the 1, no 1 trains between 96 St and Dyckman St.

January 20 to 24 on the E F M R, no E trains between Roosevelt Av and World Trade Center; no F trains between Roosevelt Av and 21 St. Queensbridge; M and R service ends early each night.

January 27 to 31 on the 2 3 4, 2 and 4 trains operate express service only between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and Franklin Av; 3 service ends early in Brooklyn each night

    The rip current risk remains high along the New Jersey and New York coastlines.     A new poll conducted by Quinnipiac University found overwhelming opposition to the way the arrest of Eric Garner was handled while the majority support the broken windows policy, which cracks down on low-level crimes to prevent bigger ones from occurring. Garner's death has brought the policy into the spotlight. The Staten Island man had been selling untaxed cigarettes when he was arrested. A police officer placed him in a chokehold and Garner died.
