Chicago man dies while shoveling snow

CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago police say a Chicago man died after shoveling snow.

Department spokeswoman Officer Janel Sedevic says a 48-year-old man suffered a fatal heart attack while shoveling snow on Sunday evening at his house on the city's West Side.

He was taking heart medication.

Officials have not released the man's name pending the notification of next of kin.

The man's death follows the death of a 71-year-old man in the central Illinois community of Bloomington, who collapsed and died while clearing snow Sunday afternoon.

With temperatures falling well below zero, police have been conducting wellness checks on people but Sedevic says there have not been any reports of any weather-related problems.
