Two men hit Homewood Suites in latest hotel robbery

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

Orlando Police are searching for a pair of gunmen who robbed a Homewood Suites near the Orlando International Airport Wednesday night.

Officials say it's the latest target in a string of more than 10 similar recent hotel robberies in the area.

Authorities say during all the robberies, two masked men armed with guns barged into the hotel and demanded money from employees.

Investigators say during this latest hit, the two men took an undisclosed amount of money from the register, ordered the clerk into an office closet, and fled the scene.

Officers said no one was hurt.

Police say a witness said they saw a beige or tan Toyota speed away from the hotel with its headlights off around the time of the crime.

Officials said they're having a hard time catching the robbers because the men move fast and leave the scene before authorities arrive.

Anyone with information about the hotel robberies or the identity of the suspects is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
