Man and child struck by car while crossing S.R. 436
ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A man and a child who were left critically injured after being struck by oncoming traffic in Orlando on Thursday evening have been identified.
Investigators said that around 6:30 p.m., Shehan Wu, of Ocoee, and an 8-year-old Orlando girl, whose name has not been released, were hit while attempting to cross N. Semoran Blvd. near Baldwin St. Both suffered injuries and the man transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center while the girl was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.
Investigators said Wu and the little girl were not crossing in a crosswalk at the time of the accident. The driver who hit them, a 19-year-old woman from Titusville, is not being cited.
Wu remains in serious condition and the child is clinging to life.
