ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

The uncle of an Orlando teenager who was shot last week while riding his bicycle has been arrested in the boy's shooting.

Dickale Cothrell, 28, was taken into custody on Friday afternoon.  He has been charged with culpable negligence and violation of probation in the shooting of his nephew, 15-year-old Onardo Bent.

Orange County Sheriff's Office detectives said the teen was shot in the torso last Saturday morning while riding his bicycle to his uncle's home at 4814 Leprechaun.  The teen was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after deputies found him unresponsive in the living room.

Detectives are still looking for the gun used to shoot Bent.

At the time, investigators said the victim's uncle told them that his nephew had arrived at his home and collapsed at the front door.  On Friday afternoon, Cothrell was called back in for questioning regarding the shooting and his original statements to deputies and detectives.  He was charged a short time later.

Cothrell was held in the Orange County Jail without bond Friday night. He is expected to see a judge Saturday.
