"Bridgegate Scandal" Investigation Widens

"Bridgegate Scandal" Investigation Widens

Posted: Updated:

Chris Christie continues to stand by his original claim that he had no involvement in clogging traffic on the George Washington Bridge in September, but the controversy continues to grow as New Jersey Assemblyman threatens to continue investigation.

Democrat Assemblyman John Wisniewski from Sayreville, NJ says he plans to initiate a state investigation into Bridgegate. He plans to subpoena more emails and text messages from Christies' top aides and even believes Christie could be impeached.

The scandal in question took place in September of 2013. Huge traffic jams on the George Washington Bridge have been connected to a political agenda organized by the New Jersey Governor's administrators. Christie held a press conference on January 9, 2014 to discuss the events that took place. FOX 29 brought in a body language expert to analyze Christie in the conference, the results can be seen here.

"If it becomes known that the Governor was involved and he knew about it an knew about the cover up and he was approving his actions made by his senior staff... That raises serious questions the assembly ought to look at and that out to be considered in light of what our responsibility is," says Wisniewski.

There is no definite connection of Christie to the Bridgegate Scandal and former New York Mayor Rudy Guliani defends Christies' statements.

If Christie is revealed to have a role in the scandal, his political career and presidential aspirations may be completely at risk.
