Valorie Curry: Most Villains Don't Think That They Are Bad

Valorie Curry plays an unhinged cult member in the hit FOX drama "The Following". She returns for season 2, which premieres Sunday night after the NFC Championship game. The actress told Lisa and Steve that even though we all see her character as evil, her character does not.

"Most villains don't think that they're bad, they sort of have ways to justify their behavior and Emma is certainly one of those as well...everything comes from a different place of total devotion and absolute love. It doesn't come from a bloodthirsty place of malice."

Valorie also talked about how season 2 will cut back on the violence but pack on the tension.

"It's not about the violence, it's much more psychological. You don't really see as much of the violence, it's this sort of creepy insidious feeling and the way that they use sound and the way that they edited those scenes. I was so impressed."

Lisa asked Valorie if she has trouble disconnecting from her disturbed character because others in the cast said it was tough to shake off the ickiness.

"I am one of those people that actually haven't been affected by it at all. It's not something I take home..."

Valorie also explained why there's an "o" in her first name and talked to Steve about taking "The Following" in a new direction next season: sitcom!

Season 2 of "The Following" premieres Sunday night after the NFC Championship game. After that it moves to its regular time, Mondays at nine.
