Bitter Cold Temperatures Keep Delaware Valley On Ice

CHERRY HILL, N.J. -

Bitter cold Arctic air is keeping New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania on ice.

Morning lows in the single digits are not expected to rise above the lower 20s on Thursday. Temperatures will combine with the wind chill to make it feel much colder.

The National Weather Service says there's a slight chance of snow showers in the afternoon.

Please stay warm and don't spend too much time in the cold. In Delaware County there has already been three snow-related deaths, all were seniors.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley was in Cherry Hill, NJ in front of a school that will be open two hours late. The roads are still pretty bad and covered with snow and ice, so Keeley said that it was definitely a smart thing to open schools late.

Power has also been restored to the 100 homes in Philadelphia that lost power last night.

Jenni Joyce was in Roxborough. Most of the major roads are cleared, but some roads and sidewalks are still slippery. Be careful when walking to school.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
