Bond increased for Southfield couple charged with extortion

Angelo Boji has already been charged with extortion and armed robbery, and if the Oakland County prosecutor is right, he could soon be charged with attempted murder, too. Yehudah Adler is Boji's alleged target, a married man and father of seven who was paying Boji's wife, Fadowa, for sex and claims Angelo told him to pay up or he'd tell and possibly harm his family.

Adler met Fadowa through an escort he met on the website The two began meeting for sex at the Boji's Southfield home last summer. Adler says Fadawa texted him September 17 and asked him to come to the house, and when he got there Angelo was waiting for him with a gun. Adler claims Angelo ordered him to get cash to keep this quiet, so Adler gave him $1,000 and then offered him more money.

Adler also went to Southfield police. Police raided the home and the husband and wife were arrested.

Fadowa is charged with armed robbery because prosecutors believe she helped set the whole thing up, a claim her attorney denies. Angelo's attorney says her client did not extort anyone.

"It was Mr. Adler who came up with the idea to have an exchange of money to keep these things private," says Angelo's attorney, Marsha Kosmatka.

The defense lawyer also asked for bond to be reduced in court Thursday, but the judge increased it, instead. The case will be sent to trial.
