Police Investigate Deadly Hit & Run In Northampton Township

Warminster, PA -

Police in Bucks County are investigating a hit and run accident that left one person dead.

Police confirm a 51-year-old Christine Witte died at the scene along the 500 block of Jacksonville Road in Northampton Township.

Police were called to the area by a passerby around 6:30 Monday morning.

Christine was staying with her mom who lives on the block. She is a mother to several children it is unclear what she was doing outside at the time of the accident.

Police tell us they have a person of interest at the police station. He is being questioned. He is the owner of a silver Dodge Caravan that was found at the Warminster train station with front end damage.

Now police believe the person of interest was stunned to hear that he may have been involved in this crash.

FOX 29's Jennifer Joyce asked police why they believe this man is not responsible for killing Witte.

"The vehicle has damage to the center portion of the car, there is no damage to the right fender where you would normally see a hit and run type accident," Chief Michael Clark said.
