Denver Station Bans Seattle Music To Support Broncos

Posted: Updated:

One radio station in Denver is doing its part to support the Broncos in the Super Bowl.

Denver's classic rock station "The Mountain" is banning all Seattle based bands from its airwaves until after Super Bowl Sunday.

That means no music from bands like Pearl Jam, Nirvana or Jimmy Hendrix.

The station programming director told The Coloradoan that this move has his support because the worst thing that could happen is a Seahawk-fan band song getting earwormed into the head of a Broncos fan.

A post on the station's Facebook page announcing the boycott has so far received 36 likes.

"The Mountain is Seattle-Free until Sunday's victory! We love Heart, Hendrix, PJ, Nirvana and the rest, but we have to put them on hold to fully prepare for the BIG GAME," the post says.
