Armed Robbery Of Blackwood NJ Store Clerk Caught On Tape

Posted: Updated:

"He started to push me and ask me for the money," said a Blackwood New Jersey store owner.

Surveillance cameras captured every nerve rattling moment starting with the suspect pulling up in a car just as the victim is leaving to make a delivery.

"He came and put a gun and hit me in my ribs with the gun and start asking for the money and pushing me and punching me," said the victim. The video shows the suspect with gun in hand walk up behind the victim and unexpectedly push him into his truck. Then you see him start to attack the victim by punching him until the victim says he handed over the money.

"I wanted to just give him what he wanted but when he tried to go to the store, my family was inside the store. I didn't want my family to get hurt. Especially if somebody has a gun."

The victim says when the suspect started heading toward the store, he set off his car alarm hoping to stop him because he feared the armed robber would hurt his family inside. Before the gunman leaves you see him fire a shot at the victim as he walks away to get in his car and take off. The victim says his store, El Manatial on Black Horse Pike in Blackwood has been here six years with no problems. He believes the robber watched him for quite some time before making a move last Friday.

"We come in to make a living. We work hard for our money and that's not fair somebody come in and just take all that belongs to us. Just because he wants to and abuse me. That's what he did."

Police say the suspect was driving a silver four door Buick with damage to the passenger side and no front tag. If you know anything call Gloucester Township Police.
