Driver fleeing hit-and-run accident caused deadly accident

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -

Police say a driver fleeing a hit-and-run accident ended up causing another, deadly accident in Gwinnett County.

Officials say the driver was fleeing southbound on Lawrenceville Suwanee Road when he lost control of his vehicle and crossed the center median. The driver ended up striking then going over a car traveling in the northbound lane.

Police say that driver then lost control of their vehicle and rammed into a nearby house, severing a gas line.

The fleeing driver ended up also losing control over passing over the vehicle and flipped the vehicle. He was transported to an area hospital.

Police say the driver of the second vehicle died at the scene.

Neither driver has been identified.

No word on charges.
