Detroit Police release surveillance footage of the hit-and-run accident that killed Roderick Bridges, 32, a father of 7 back in November of 2013 in efforts to catch the driver responsible.

Roderick, one of his brothers and other relatives were at Jimmy's Lounge on Kercheval Street in Detroit celebrating a niece's birthday. Roderick was leaving when someone started shooting. Everyone started running, and he was run over.

Police released surveillance footage from the night of the incident, which suggests Roderick ducked for cover under the vehicle just moments before the car pulled away and ran him over.

"The driver is coming from the front of the vehicle, opening up the driver's side door. The vehicle height is 5 foot 6 [inches], so he's a lot taller than that vehicle," says Officer Enrique Jackson of the Detroit Fatal Police Squad.

Police believe the driver is about six feet tall and was driving an SUV, such as a Jimmy or a Trailblazer.

"We're just asking for that person to come forward or any witnesses with first-hand knowledge to give us a call so we can bring some closure to the family," says Jackson.

Any one with any information can also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (773-2587). You will remain anonymous.
