CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The results of an interesting survey are out.

It's about kids, families, and money.

Let's start with this question for parents; do you give your kids an allowance?

The survey by "T. Row Price" found a pretty even split.

Forty-seven percent of parents do and 53 percent do not give their kids an allowance

For those who do, 69-percent give $1 to $10 a week, 18-percent give $11 to $20 dollars a week.

And here was the surprise: four percent give their kids between $41 and $50 in allowance each week.

That's nearly a quadruple increase since 2011.

Here are some other tidbits from the survey.

It asked kids how often their parents talk with them about spending and saving money.

Twenty-percent said very often, 41-percent said somewhat often, 29-percent said not very often and nine-percent said almost never.
