Mayor Garcetti stands on Jolette Street in Granada Hills. One minute he takes a picture with his smartphone of a road crew fixing a pothole. Moments later he praises crews as he announces phase two of his "Operation Neighborhood Blitz."
This is a major initiative by the Mayor to repair streets. In the first six months over 15,000 potholes and street cracks were patched in 500 locations.
The Mayor, standing at a podium as a crew patches a pothole, also takes the photo op to thanks Angelenos who called into 3-1-1 or used the "MY311" app to report potholes across the city. You can download the "MY311" app on your smartphone or dial 3-1-1 on a landline if you want to make such reports.
Over the next two weeks road crews will be in North Granada Hills, Porter Ranch, Northridge, North Hills, Mission Hills and Panorama City.
