Shortage of people for CPS local school council elections

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

There's apparently a huge shortage of people who want to get involved with Chicago Public Schools.

The filing deadline for local school council elections is just two weeks away.

There are 6,000 seats available.

However, CPS said so far only 769 people have turned in the paper work to run for them.

School officials said they're conducting an aggressive outreach to get parents and community members involved.
