Two Missing Mothers In Santa Ana

Two Missing Mothers In Santa Ana

Posted: Updated:

Police in Santa Ana reached out to the media last year to publicize three missing women from Santa Ana.  20-year old Kianna Jackson disappeared in October, 34 year old Monique Vargas disappeared 20 days later and then 28 year old Martha Anaya went missing November 12.  The police investigation includes all three, but they're particularly worried about Vargas and Anaya, because both are local, had kept regular schedules and have young children.

But now its been months and there's been no break in the case.  The families are getting frustrated and accuse the police of not doing enough.  Anaya's boyfriend believes in any other area there would have been a massive manhunt for the women.

Police can't even say if the disappearances are connected.  What is true is all three were working girls and they frequented a rough area of Santa Ana near a block of motels near First and Lyon.

Anaya's daughter Deja was just about to turn 5 when she disappeared.  Her boyfriend Jesse says Martha was a good mother and wouldn't have missed her birthday unless something terribly bad happened.

Police say the investigation is classified high priority.  Detectives  continuously check the hospitals, jails, morgues and talk to the FBI and other law enforcement agencies but the women have just disappeared.  To police and the families that suggests they're still alive.  The families believe the women were snatched and are being held captive somewhere as sex slaves.

That's one working theory for police,  but another one is that they've just left on their own, or they've relapsed and are too drugged up to remember their families.

Linda Salcedo, Martha's mother looked at the innocent face of her grand daughter and told me she can't and won't believe that.  She has faith in God that her daughter is still alive and wants to be home.
