PHILADELPHIA -

Police have charged a man who is the alleged suspect in a video posted on social media who used a gun to demand sidewalk salt.

Police say that Daron Stinson, 21, is the person believed to be behind the videos. He turned himself in at Central Detectives late Monday night. He is charged with Aggravated Assault, Robbery, and related offenses in regards to the below incidents.

The incident occurred at around 3:00 p.m. on February 13. Police say a 52-year-old-man was salting the sidewalk out side of the 2800 block of Diamond Street. Stinson, and another individual in a pickup truck then approached and asked to buy the salt. When the victim refused to sell his salt, Stinson pointed a handgun at him, police say.

The videos were posted on Instagram. They show a car pull up, someone inside yells at a man salting the sidewalk to hand over the salt bag. Then you see someone in the car point a gun. Other voices can be heard laughing.

Another video shows the car pull up and someone yells at a group of boys to watch out.

You see the gun and people duck, scatter, some fall.

Police say that the gun used in these incidents posted on Instagram was a black pellet gun. There were no injuries reported.
