Classes back in session at UIC, sides to meet Friday

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

All classes should be back in session Thursday at the University of Illinois at Chicago following a two-day walkout by teachers and staff.

More than 1,000 instructors and others walked the picket line.

Pay has been the main stumbling block in negotiations. The union wants a 4.5 percent raise for this year but the university is only offering 3.25 percent.

Both sides are scheduled to meet again Friday.
