Pregnant woman tried to bring loaded gun onto plane: Prosecutors

A pregnant Milwaukee woman allegedly tried to bring a loaded gun onto a plane Friday night at O'Hare International Airport, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting.

Angelique Kittell, 26, is charged with boarding an aircraft with a weapon, a felony.

Cook County prosecutors on Saturday said Kittell had an automatic pistol with five live rounds in her carry-on backpack.

Security at O'Hare found the gun and immediately detained the woman at a checkpoint on Friday at 8:20 p.m.

Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr. ordered Kittell held in lieu of $250,000 bail on Saturday.

Kittell's private defense attorney told the judge she is seven months pregnant and that she didn't know the gun was in her bag.

"Save it for the trial," Bourgeois said before granting bail to the woman who also has an armed robbery with a bank conviction out of Milwaukee.
