CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -

Clayton County police are searching for four men accused of robbing a Clayton County man and then beating him in the head with a hammer.

Police say FOX5 that the attack was an ambush that happened on Saturday in Jonesboro.

According to authorities, the victim's name is Kevin Butt -- the incident happened when Butt was responding to a carpet cleaning call. He told investigators that he was in the process of doing an estimate for a client when four men rushed him.

Butt says the men took all of the cash in his wallet, which was about $80, his phone, his work van, the worst part is that Butt says that they beat him over the head with a hammer.

"I couldn't move. I couldn't even get up. He pulled me up and held me. And then he swat me on the head. He started to use the hammer. Where you take the nail out with the hammer, he put that in my mouth," Butt said.

Butt has 17 staples in his head, a black eye and a swollen hand. And he is asking for help since Clayton County investigators don't have a good description of the four men and one woman involved in this crime.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Clayton County Police Department at (770) 477-3747.
