A "New York fish" will be swimming in Lake Michigan this weekend. "Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon accepted Mayor Rahm Emanuel's challenge to participate in the Polar Plunge this Sunday.
The comedian tweeted his answer @RahmEmanuel from @jimmyfallon on Monday:
@jimmyfallon: "I'm in. Lake Michigan will have a New York fish this weekend... #swimmy Fallon."
@jimmyfallon: "Chicago - I'm wearing a suit and tie for the #PolarPlunge. Show solidarity by wearing a necktie. (I'm not telling you what else to wear.)"
Mayor Emanuel has his back. He posted this picture of a wetsuit for Fallon on the Chicago Mayor's Office Facebook page:
"Hey Jimmy Fallon, got this for you. See, I told you, the City of Big Shoulders has your back. Check out #jimmyplungewithus on Twitter for the proof."
The polar plunge benefits the Special Olympics. The Polar Plunge raised $800,000 for the competition last year.
Emanuel joined Good Day Chicago live from Washington D.C. Tuesday morning, to talk about the Fallon challenge and President Obama's announcement about bringing a digital hub to Chicago.
