Heavy Rains Cause Roof Collapse in Burbank

Posted: Updated:

BURBANK (FOX 11) - The roof of a Burbank warehouse collapsed after heavy rainfall hit the region this morning.

The collapse occurred around 9 a.m. Friday at 3083 Lima St., leaving behind a gaping 20' x 30' foot hole in the roof of the building.

The 50' x 60' structure was used as a storage facility and no one was inside at the time of the incident.

About 10 to 15 people from adjacent businesses were evacuated as a precaution. No injuries were reported.

Structural engineers red-tagged the warehouse building, but the adjoining business offices were deemed safe and remained open for business.

Clogged storm drains were believed to have been the cause for the collapse.
