Felony charges filed in Ga. sucker-punch attack

BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) - Four older teenagers have been charged with felonies for what police say was a sucker-punch attack on a 16-year-old boy at a Wal-Mart store in coastal Brunswick.

Glynn County police say the attack Monday had similarities to the so-called "knockout game," in which assailants try to knock out random victims with a single punch and often place video of the attacks online. Police Chief Matt Doering said he didn't know if the attack was recorded.

Police used store surveillance video to identify four suspects - all aged 18 to 19 - and charged them with first-degree cruelty to children, a felony. It was not immediately known whether they had attorneys.

The Florida Times-Union reports the boy suffered bruising to his face, but his father says he wasn't knocked out.
