Prowler call leads to drug bust in Tolleson

Tolleson Police say they responded to a neighborhood near 91st Ave. & Van Buren for a report of a prowler, they ended up locating a drug operation running in a residence.

Police got the call around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, while searching the area they found a man crouching in a vehicle under a carport. Officers reported smelling marijuana coming from the residence as they approached the man who then ran from authorities.

Officers chased the man and a short time later another man who fled from the residence. They caught both men nearby.

Investigators obtained a search warrant and discovered 1,000 pounds of marijuana. They arrested 30 year-old Perfecto Nunez and 39 year-old Senon Zavala-Meza on charges of possessing marijuana, possessing marijuana for sale, possessing marijuana for transportation, and criminal trespassing.
