Dead dogs in Rouge Park, what's going on?

DETROIT (WJBK) -

On Saturday a group of people will continue to search for dead dogs that were left behind after the snow melted this week Rouge Park.

A city employee discovered two deceased canines as temperatures warmed and deep snow piles gave way.

Fox 2's Andrea Isom learns that residents in the area have been aware of the problem for a while, and that dogs have been found here in the past.

Many of the dogs are disfigured, have scars or severe cuts.  It's gruesome.

Detroit Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) board member Nicole Litzelman is organizing a search for more of the animals on Saturday at Noon.  The address is: 21601 Plymouth.

The park is located at West Outer Drive between Plymouth Road and West Warren Avenue.
