American Airlines Apologizes For Note Calling Couple 'Deaf And Dumb'

American Airlines issuing an apology for an insensitive note left on passengers' luggage.

A deaf couple returning from a Hawaiian vacation lost their luggage on the flight home.

Angela Huckaby and James Moehle went on their first vacation in 16 years and had an amazing time, until they lost their luggage.

The inconvenience wasn't a big deal. It was a note that was left on the luggage that called them, "deaf and dumb."

"It was just outrageous and cruel and unnecessary," said Moehle's mother, Kay Moehle.

The couple was stunned and wrote a letter to the airline asking for an apology and disciplinary action against the party responsible.

The airline, issuing a statement, it reads "clearly a poor choice of words.  We're confident there was no ill will, but we'll be looking into this further."

"That person needs to be fired,"  declares Kay Moehle.

The couple says if they get a sincere apology, they'll consider using the airline again.
