ATLANTA (AP) - Metro Atlanta leaders hope a new effort to improve development around the world's busiest airport will benefit the entire region.

Business and elected officials plan to officially launch the Atlanta Aerotropolis Alliance on Friday.

According to a news release, the organization will bring together industry and government to encourage more economic development in communities around Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

More than 250,000 passengers pass through Hartsfield-Jackson on an average day.
