Police: Woman steals hot shower at Dunwoody home

Posted: Updated:
DUNWOODY, Ga. -

It is Friday and many folks will come home from work and steal a hot shower to wash away the long week, but one police department found someone stealing a hot shower, literally.

The Dunwoody Police Department posted on their Facebook page on Friday that they responded to the area of Brookhurst and Haverstraw drives after a woman found her front door open. The woman said she heard water running upstairs and her bathroom door was locked.

Officers were about to kick in the locked bathroom door, but decided to knock first to ask the person inside to identify themselves. They discovered the burglar was actually the teenage daughter of the next-door neighbors. It turned out they were renovating their bathroom.

She told police she let herself inside to steal a hot shower. No word on actual charges.
