CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The lions and bears and wolves are coming back to Illinois -- and lawmakers want to protect them.

The Senate approved a bill on Monday to add black bears, gray wolves, and mountain lions to the state's list of protected species.

Those animals haven't lived in Illinois in large numbers for year, but there has been an increase in sightings -- and naturalists expect more of the animals to return to their natural habitat.
