GRIFFIN, Ga. -

The Griffin Bears head coach has resigned amid allegations of grade changing.

During a special Griffin-Spalding County Schools board meeting on Thursday, members revealed an investigation that proves "evidence of grade tampering and favorable treatment of Griffin High football players" by Coach S. DeVoursney and his wife, an English teacher at the school.

Coach DeVoursney informed his players of the resignation Wednesday.

DeVoursney is the second winningest coach in Griffin High School history.  The team beat Carrollton, in 2013, for the title. The title was the first held by the school in 35 years.

According to reports, players, coaches and members of the community are distraught over the loss of the coach and he doesn't have another job lined up.
