Detroit apartments looted after fire

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) - Several residents were forced out of their homes when their apartment complex burned on Greenfield Road in Detroit last week. Then, when they returned home, many found their places had been ransacked.

Residents tell FOX 2's Andrea Isom their doors were kicked in and practically everything from their homes were stolen.

"Flat screen TVs and stuff is gone; all my electronics gone. ... Drawers dumped. They went through everything. I mean they've taken toiletries out of there. They took my jewelry, my daughter's jewelry, my other daughter's jewelry," says Verna Fields. She also says two bags of clothes from the laundromat were stolen, along with wigs and lingerie.

If you know anything about this crime contact the Detroit Police Department.
