Orr: Lump sum from the state for Detroit retirees makes more sense

Posted: Updated:
LANSING, Mich. (WJBK) - Detroit Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr said for the first time in Lansing Wednesday that a lump sum payment from the state for city retirees makes more sense than a long term payment of $350 million.

He tells FOX 2's Tim Skubick the lump sum payment makes more sense because it is a "bird in the hand."

But Orr and the governor are still hunting for votes after two days of briefing lawmakers.

Skubick explains what went on durnig day two of Orr's lobbying efforts.

Orr will be back in Lansing next week.
