DETROIT (WJBK) - A 135-year-old home in Detroit plays a starring role in a new vampire movie, 'Only Lovers Left Alive.' The movie opens today.

The home, owned by Jeff Cowin, is on Alfred Street, near Woodward Avenue and I-75.

Cowin began renovating the 6,200 square foot home more than a year ago, but a lot more work still needs to be done. The renovations have come a lot way though, as he tells FOX 2's Erika Erickson you used to be able to see the sky through holes in the roof.

Cowin also says the house was in the final three homes considered to be in the new Batman Superman film.

'Only Lovers Left Alive' stars Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston.
