Police: Deer Feeding Feud Leads To Shooting

Posted: Updated:

New Brighton, MN-A neighborly feud ends with one man dead and police say it may have started over feeding deer.

According to authorities, 45-year-old Todd Stevens was shot and killed Monday outside his New Brighton, Minnesota home.

His girlfriend was also shot, but is expected to be okay.

Police arrested neighbor, 57-year old Neal Zumberge, as a suspect in the shooting.

Investigators believe the two have been feuding for years because the victims would feed deer yard in his yard.

Police say the suspect believed he got Lyme disease because of Stevens feeding the deer corn.

According to neighbors, the suspect even sent them a letter referring to the victim as "Mr. Corn."

Zumberge is charged with second degree murder and attempted second degree murder.
