DETROIT (WJBK) - A man was shot while standing in line at an ice cream shop in Detroit, according to police.

Police tell FOX 2 the victim was getting ice cream at the Dairy Queen at the intersection of Wyoming Street and Oakman Boulevard when two men approached him and shot him without exchanging any words.

One of the suspects fired three times at the victim and then both of the perpetrators ran away. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

"The motive behind this is still unclear right now. It doesn't appear that he knew them, doesn't appear that it was a robbery. It was just one of those things - he was standing in line and they just approached him out of nowhere," says Adam Madera with Detroit Police.

Witnesses describe the shooter as a black male in his early 20s, being 5 feet 7 inches tall with a slim build and having a medium complexion. He was wearing white-rimmed glasses. No description was provided for the second perpetrator.
