Posted: Updated:

Northeast Philadelphia- Police say two suspects burst into a home, tied a woman up and ransacked a house on Wednesday afternoon in Northeast Philadelphia.

According to police, it happened just after 1 p.m. when a relative arrived at a home in the 1300 block of Van Kirk Street in Oxford Circle and found a 68-year-old woman tied up inside.

“I'm concerned, nobody deserves that. They're good neighbors,” one neighbor said.

Neighbors say within minutes, detectives arrived on the scene. They began fingerprinting the front door. It appears the victim answered a knock at the door and two suspects burst in, then tied her up and began ransacking the house.

Police went door-to-door looking for witnesses, just before 3 p.m., investigators left the home with the woman and her family, headed for Northeast Detectives.

Police are searching the area for surveillance cameras to see if they captured the suspects approaching or fleeing the residence.

The victim was not injured.

If you have any information, please call Northeast Detectives at 215-686-3153.
